Twenty five year old Jonathon came through the Hull City Academy, and after a loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity, moved on to Tranmere Rovers for the 2016/16 season.

He was transferred to Lincoln City at the end of that season from where he was snapped up by Boston United. Most recently he has been on loan again at Gainsborough and last season Matlock Town.

Curtis Woodhouse had this to say;

"I’m delighted to get Jonno into the football club, a real coup for us. He comes with great pedigree and will be an influential player on and off the pitch. In the preseason friendly against Curzon Ashton he looked really sharp and showed his quality with 2 well taken goals. That was without really knowing any of the lads and how we played, so I think once he gets up to speed he’s going to be a real asset.
He’s had some very good offers on the table from clubs a lot higher up the pyramid than us so I think it’s a real testament to the football club that he wanted to play his football with us this season."
