Barrett had to be substituted ten minutes into the second half after taking a heavy knock to the ankle on the half-way line.
After the match Barrett headed to A&E where they confirmed it was ligament damage.
The extent of the injury hasn't been fully diagnosed yet but the recently moulded centre-back is hoping to be back in training by the end of next week.
Barrett has appeared more than any other player this season with 41 appearances, all starts.
The Brewers are back in action tomorrow when we travel to Brighouse Town.
