Ingham Looking For Goals To Be Shared Around

This week we sat down with captain Michael Ingham to get his thoughts on the recent loss at Marske as well as the overall start to the season.

“Tuesday night was very frustrating, we can’t keep playing in patches, we have to learn to play for 90 minutes.”

“We did let the points slip and this was down to a lack of concentration, winning the ball back as well as better retention needed up the pitch.”

It’s been an inconsistent start to 2018/19 for Taddy as they continue to take one step forward then two steps back.

“We are conceding sloppy goals hence the up and down start, if we are to be successful this season we need to start cutting out the silly goals.”

“At the other end defenders from set-plays and midfielders from open play need to chip in with more goals, we can’t just rely on the forwards.”

“Managers are saying we are the best team they have played this season but we need to start turning good performances into results, I’d rather have points on the board than have high praise.”

The Brewers have two big home games in the space of four days against Stocksbridge and Loughborough respectively and Ingham knows just how pivotal they are.

“These are two massive games coming up so early in the season, I’ve mentioned it before about making the home form strong. After seeing some of the pitches away already this season, teams will love coming to play on our pitch, it’s up to us to raise our game even more at home.”

“Two wins this week can propel us up the league and hopefully give us the kick-start we need.”
