Club legend Josh Barrett is to undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday which could see him sidelined for up to eight weeks.

The versatile defender has featured 25 times so far this season, 16 of which have been starts, but an ongoing issue with his shoulder continuing to dislocate has forced him to have an operation.

"It's just been really annoying me to be honest and I just need to get it done" Barrett stated. Into his sixth season with the Brewers, Barrett is set to be in a sling for 3-4 weeks before facing a further 4-6 weeks doing rehab.

"I hope I'm back sooner rather than later, I will work extremely hard with my rehab to make sure I can return and hopefully help the team."

We would like to wish our longest serving player a full and speedy recovery.
