This week we caught with midfielder Pete Davidson to get his thoughts on the Brewers’ start to the season.

“It’s been an up and down start to the season but we’ve picked up a few decent wins. We are obviously disappointed with a few of the results to still be in and around the play-off places is promising.”

“To go to Colwyn Bay and get a draw is a very good result and if you’d have offered us that before the game we would have taken it. The way the game went I feel we were unlucky not to take all three points. Colwyn Bay is a hard place to go, you only have to look at the result they got against South Shields the other week beating them 4-2.”

“I’ve not played as much as I’d like to due to my hamstring injury but I’d like to think that’s behind me now. Hopefully I can crack on now and get a good run of games.”

Davidson is still hopeful that Taddy can go all the way this year.

“With the squad that we’ve got, we are more than capable of getting promoted this season.”

Skelmersdale are next up for the Brewers and they are yet to win on the road this season, but the experienced midfielder is still wary.

“You can’t underestimate any team in this league, we will prepare for Saturday the same as we would any other game. We seem to play a bit better at home, maybe that’s down to the surface at the i2i and the way we like to play.”

“Mikey & Si are great managers; the sessions they put on are excellent. We always know our opposition’s strengths/weaknesses. They’re approachable and have put together a good squad.”

“I’d urge the fans to come down and support the team on Saturday, the facilities at the i2i are outstanding. We try to play entertaining football and as you can see by our results this season, we score a fair few goals.”
