This week we sat down with 22-year-old midfielder Corey Roper.

“As a team, the effort and work-rate from all the lads has been great. I think that’s one of the reasons why we have given ourselves a chance of making the play-offs.”

“Personally I have become more consistent and got better as the season has gone on, but that doesn’t matter as the main thing is trying to finish as high as possible.”

“I felt our best performance of the season to date is South Shields away (0-0). I feel that was the start of a good run. We played in a different formation and matched the top team in the league.”

“If I’m honest, the last few games have been very frustrating; the defeat at Trafford, the two late goals at Prescot Cables and the defeat to Hyde. We are playing good football but are struggling to get the ball in the back of the net.”

“Both Bamber Bridge and Scarborough are now two of the biggest games of the season, if we get two good results we will be back in and around the play-offs and that’s where we want to be.”

“The lads are still confident we can get two results from the next two games, we have been playing some good stuff, we just need to be more clinical in the final third.”
