We are delighted to announce the signing of central midfielder Corey Roper after a successful trial period with the club.

After signing for Leeds United’s Academy at the age of 7, Corey signed a scholarship in 2012 before going on to represent the whites at U18 and U21 level.

More recently, Corey signed a three-year deal at Wrexham making his debut in 2015.

Manager Michael Morton is full of admiration for the ball-playing midfielder.

“Corey is a very tidy footballer as some of you may have already seen whilst being on trial in pre-season. He has a very good attitude, his willingness to learn is admirably and we feel like his game is only getting better and will no doubt play a crucial role across the course of the season.”

Corey made his first appearance for the club and caught the eye in the friendly at Garforth Town after replacing the injured Jake Rose.

He then went on to start against Selby Town and Sheffield United.

Corey exclusively told the club, “After speaking to Michael & Simon as well as seeing the set-up and facilities it was a no brainer for me.”

“I feel it is a fantastic opportunity for me to play, develop and be part of a successful team.

We’ve got a good squad who all work hard for each other and they have made me feel very welcome.

Here’s to a successful season!”

Welcome Corey!
