We are delighted to announce the signing of former York City and Harrogate Town defender Harry Coates.

The 22 year-old centre-back joins from Hyde United who was an integral figure alongside Paddy Miller in their promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier Division. It’s much the same situation for Coates who opted to leave the Tameside based club because of the dreaded journeys back and forth on the M62.

Coates on signing for Tadcaster Albion:

“It feels great to be a Tadcaster player, I always enjoyed playing there in the past, it’s a nice ground with a great fan base.”

“I’m looking forward to wearing the shirt next season as well as playing under the management team who have been great with me so far.”

“Once I decided to leave Hyde I spoke with Mikey and Si over the phone and then met with them in person. I knew straight away it was the right club for me.”

“I believe I can develop a lot under Mikey and Si and it’s a club that will definitely be pushing for promotion next season. I can’t wait for the challenge.”

“Taddy play great football and were potentially the best footballing side in the league last season. It’s a local club to me too which is good.”

“I’ve come to Tadcaster to push for promotion, the squad nearly did it last season and I hope to help push the club over the line this season.”

“The management team have made it clear that this is the target and I am determined to make it two promotions in two seasons for myself”

Manager Michael Morton on the acquisition;

“Harry is someone who we have been monitoring for a while now, he has bags of talent and can do a bit of everything.”

“It was key that he fitted into our style of play and is able to deliver what we want from individuals. We were also looking for experience playing in this league and higher. Harry gives us everything we are looking for”

Welcome to the club, Harry!
